Sonya Richards is a New England based actress, entertainer, and model who began performing as a young teen. She is a classically trained actor, focusing on Shakespeare, farce, and improvisation, but also studied mime and stage combat. Over the last two decades, Sonya has built an extensive background in theater and more recently had her breakthrough in film. She is well-known for her theatrical personality, larger-than-life facial expressions, and her natural comedic timing. She is also known to take complete command of any scene in which she’s featured. Although comedy is her niche, Sonya is no stranger to the dramatic arts - winning BroadwayWorld’s Regional Awards (Boston) Best Performer in a Play [non-professional] in 2021 for her portrayal of Emily Webb in Thorton Wilder’s Our Town. Her talents have led her to other creative opportunities including becoming an experienced living décor artist, in which she applies elements of to her character work. In her free time, she enjoys watching classic Hollywood films, cooking, sewing/costuming and general crafting. Sonya continues to grow as an artist, welcomes new opportunities, and is thrilled to debut in her first feature film with Full of Fruit Productions!
